We are looking for a passionate and organized Creative Development Intern to join our team. This role offers a hands-on opportunity to work closely with our Creative Executive and Development team, contributing to the creation and management of dynamic storytelling projects across a variety of formats.
Key Responsibilities:
- Script Coverage and Story Notes: Read and analyze scripts, treatments, and pitches. Provide thoughtful coverage and story notes to support the creative development process.
- Submission Review: Assist in reviewing, categorizing, and organizing creative submissions from writers, directors, and production partners. Maintain and update a comprehensive tracking system.
- Project Management: Track multiple creative projects across different stages of development. Monitor key deadlines and deliverables, ensuring timely execution.
- Creative Collaboration: Support the Creative Executive and Development team by coordinating communication with creators, studios, and production teams.
- Research and Trend Analysis: Conduct research on market trends, competitive projects, and emerging talent to inform and inspire creative decisions.
- Meeting Preparation: Assist in preparing materials for creative meetings, including pitch decks, project updates, and presentation support.
- Database Management: Maintain and update tracking systems for submissions, projects, and talent contacts, ensuring accessibility and organization.
- Creative Brainstorming: Participate in team brainstorming sessions, contributing fresh ideas and perspectives to current and future projects.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Current student or recent graduate from a top-tier film school, creative writing program, or related field. Relevant coursework or thesis work in screenwriting, storytelling, or media production is highly valued.
- Industry Experience: Previous internship experience in creative development, production companies, or studios is strongly preferred.
- Script Analysis Skills: Strong ability to evaluate scripts, treatments, and story ideas with an eye for narrative structure, character development, and marketability.
- Organizational Skills: Exceptional project management abilities to track and manage a large volume of submissions, deadlines, and deliverables.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effectively collaborating with a diverse team and external creators.
- Proficiency in Tools: Familiarity with industry-standard tools such as Final Draft, script tracking software, project management platforms (e.g., Airtable, Asana), and presentation software (e.g., Keynote, PowerPoint).
- Passion for Storytelling: A deep enthusiasm for storytelling across various formats and genres, with an understanding of current trends in film, television, and interactive media.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail in reviewing creative materials and tracking project progress.
