Position Summary & Responsibilities
The position (K0233713)
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment has a 5 Year Fingerprinting Specialist opening in Topeka. This position is with the Bureau of Family Health and will be strictly in office only. The incumbent in this role will be responsible for handling the 5 year fingerprint process.
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
Click the comprehensive tab starting the 5 year process, make calls at 15 and 20 days, send administrative letter at 60 days and legal letter at 90 days. Keep all excel spread sheets up to date.
Demonstrates attention to detail while maintaining an effective tracking system to account for 5 year fingerprints. Promptly and politely answer customer's telephone inquiries or emails within 24 hours. Contact providers, program directors, or individuals regarding background check documentation submitted when necessary. Provide a status update of those documents as needed. Assist customers in properly completing forms according to program policies and procedures. Provide guidance on options to correct deficiencies, problems, and errors to ensure proper documentations is submitted as timely as possible.

Education:
- High School, GED

Licensing & Certification:
- Valid Driver's License - Incumbent is required to have and maintain a valid driver's license when operating a state vehicle, a private vehicle, or a rental vehicle for the benefit of the State.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Two years of experience in general office, clerical or administrative support work. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access.
- Proofreading, editing, attention to detail.
- Customer service experience.
