Fan Engagement (Exhibit Musician) Intern

 

The Fan Engagement (Exhibit Musician) Intern works closely with members of the Garage (our interactive rock instrument based exhibit), Fan Engagement, and Education departments to offer a wide range of programming for people of all ages. The Intern will gain practical experience in creating a deeper understanding of the impact of rock & roll through programs like: Stories of Rock, Rock Hall Live, and Toddle Rock to name a few. 

 

TASKS & DUTIES

  • Facilitating the Garage play room and jam room
  • Preparing a set for Lunch by the Lake and or Happy Hour shows
  • Deliver Garage Stories of Rock programs
  • Working onstage in the Garage and in the Museum
  • Maintain instruments and Garage space 
  • Create engaging experiences for our visitors 

 

Possible projects

  • Perform a Lunch by the Lake or Happy Hour
  • Create and deliver your own Stories of Rock program

 

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be a multi-instrumentalist with proficiency of guitar, keyboards, bass, and drums 
  • Experience with instrument instruction
  • Ability to read music charts
  • Experience in people-facing customer service  
  • Available to work days, evenings, and weekends as needed
  • Ability to perform music on your own
  • Confidence and comfort in front of large crowds
  • Attention to detail and good organizational & planning skills 
  • Must be proficient in computer skills including Office 365 

 

Preferred Experiences

  • Instrument maintenance and repair, including, but not limited to: tuning, string and drum head replacement, and proper instrument set up
  • Public speaking 
  • Performing live with others 

 

ELIGIBILITY

Intern applicants must be currently enrolled in a college (preferably entering senior year after summer 2025) or graduate school program. 

 

Details

  • Rock Hall internships are paid positions and for enrichment purposes must be willing to work within other departments. 
  • The internship is onsite, starting May 28th and ending August 8th. Exact end dates could be later with some internships.
  • Estimated weekly hours for this internship: 35 hours

All intern positions will get a chance to work on the floor of the museum to learn firsthand how we create the world class guest experience for our visitors from around the globe. Lastly, all our interns will get to experience summer at the Rock Hall and Cleveland, getting to know the city that helped build Rock & Roll, and all of the events and excitement we curate each summer.
