JOB TITLE: Assistant Shop Tech

ORGANIZATION NAME: IUPUI – Herron - Sculpture

WORK SCHEDULE (AVERAGE HOURS/WEEK): 10

WAGE/SALARY (HOURLY WAGE): $12.00

JOB DESCRIPTION:

General Purpose

Assist with maintaining safe work environment & general upkeep of Herron Sculpture shops.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (assign % of time spent in each area = total 100%)

  • 50% Assisting students outside of class maintain safety protocol
  • 50% Assisting with the general maintenance of the Herron Sculpture shops
  • Tools and Equipment Used (if any)
  • Pallet jack, some wood shop equipment, some metal shop equipment

Skills/Experience Gained in this Role (related toward student’s career/academic progress or major, and Principles of Undergraduate Learning)

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Working knowledge of most wood and metal shop equipment
  • Skill in mold-making, wood working and shop organization
  • Ability to follow directions carefully and be on time
  • Must be enrolled at Herron School of Art & Design.
  • Ability to assertively prompt shop users to comply with safety guidelines.
