Asset Management Intern

The Asset Management Department ensures the effective utilization and maintenance of the MAC’s resources and infrastructure. The Asset Management Intern supports the Maintenance Services and Asset Management Department by assisting with projects including inventory of consumables, tools, airfield assets, maintenance equipment, and vehicles. This position offers exposure to airport operations and management and hands-on experience in the emerging asset management field.
The length of the internship is 12-weeks, beginning in June and ending mid-August.

Position Description:
- Carry out the vision and mission of the MAC Maintenance Services and Asset Management Department to further the MAC’s asset management initiative.
- Assist with the field inspection of assets and audit MAC infrastructure, including the use of GIS, which may include plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting assets.
- Assist in the development of a fleet parts and equipment inventory system.
- Perform research of historical documents and records to assist MAC staff with various projects and initiatives.
- Summarize and present procedures, data, and accomplishments to others in the department to assist in planning infrastructure maintenance.
- Utilize asset and fleet management software within a field environment.
- Utilize other software as needed for data entry and record keeping.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a graduate or undergraduate degree program in Aviation, Engineering, Architecture, Computer Science, Urban Planning, or closely related degree.
- Experience using Microsoft office software, e.g., Word, PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent analytical skills.
DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS
- Experience with or knowledge of geographic information systems (GIS).
- Experience using asset management/inventory control software.
- Reliable vehicle to commute between job sites.
