Project Engineer III

Project Engineer III

New Jersey Water Supply Authority has a full-time entry-level Project Engineer opportunity for a Civil Engineering graduate.

Clean water is our most precious resource, and two million NJ residents depend upon us to guarantee the continuation of this resource. Our mission is to maintain and deliver a dependable supply of water, and to preserve and enhance source water quality and quantity through planning and preservation.

NJWSA’s water system is made up of the Round Valley, Spruce Run and Manasquan Reservoirs, as well as 60 miles of the D&R Canal system. Together, they have the capability of delivering 241 million gallons of raw water per day to the water utilities that serve central New Jersey. The reservoirs include both on-stream and pumped storage facilities and are formed by some of the largest earthen dams in the state.

At the Manasquan Water Supply System, the Project Engineer will have the opportunity to work on a large variety of capital improvement projects at our water treatment plant, pump stations and reservoir complex. These projects include upgrades to our water treatment plant, managing a wide range of construction activities, and managing routine and emergency repairs to our water supply facilities.  Additionally, the Project Engineer III will have the opportunity to prepare in-house designs, plans, specifications and cost estimates for various projects.

A successful candidate requires a Civil Engineering Degree, preferably from an ABET accredited school. The individual will work under a NJ licensed professional engineer (PE), providing the opportunity to work towards a PE license. Candidates holding an EIT certification are preferred but certification is not required. A NJ driver’s license is required, and NJ residency is required within the first year of employment.

As a NJ public body, we offer a competitive salary, plus a generous benefit package through the NJ Division of Pensions and Benefits that includes medical, prescription, dental, and life insurance; paid vacation, sick, and holiday time; and participation in the NJ State pension program.
