Position Information:

- Hours: 40 hours per week (9:00 – 5:00pm central)

- Compensation: $20.00/hour

Intern, Digital Fundraising:

As the Digital Fundraising Intern, you’ll have the chance to be inspired by our vision while directly impacting our ability to achieve key organizational goals through strategic fundraising efforts.
Fundraising at Minnesota Public Radio is a deeply collaborative process, and this role will have you working closely with colleagues across departments—from marketing and communications to events, content, and digital teams. Key Learning Goals:
Through immersive learning and real-world projects, our goal is for you to:
- Gain a broader understanding of fundraising, specifically in public media
- Learn the basics of a membership program/annual fundraising program, including data-informed decision-making processes and strategy development
- Gain direct experience with digital fundraising, donor communications, and project management
Responsibilities:
In this hands-on role, you will
- Help to plan, create, launch, and monitor email fundraising campaigns to drive revenue and engagement among MPR donors and prospects
- Refresh the MPR donor email welcome series with updated impact messaging
- Analyze the MPR email renewal series for effectiveness and recommend improvements
- Design digital pop-up campaigns on MPR websites to drive revenue and complement on-air and email messaging
- Brainstorm social media activations and creative assets to align with fundraising campaigns goals and themes
- Attend community events to drive membership acquisition and engagement, including Twin Cities Pride and the Minnesota State Fair

Programming:
- Participate in a robust on-boarding experience
- Professional development: on-the-job training, workforce readiness training, formal performance review feedback sessions, etc.
- Participate in brown bag sessions to gain broader perspective of the organization
Required Qualifications:
- Students who are currently enrolled and have completed one year of a 2-year or 4-year undergraduate program, are enrolled in a graduate program, or have earned a degree in the last 12 months
- Must be able to work 40 hours per week (Monday – Friday, 9:00 – 5:00pm) for the duration of this internship
- Must be able work in the office (St. Paul, MN) at least 2 days per week
- Interest in fundraising and nonprofit work
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications:
- Fundraising or communications experience
- Project management experience
