Sherpa Technology Group (STG) is an advisory firm sitting at the intersection of strategy consulting, investment banking, and technology/intellectual property (IP).
Sherpa is a great place to jumpstart a career, with early client-facing engagement (analysts participate on readouts and calls) and responsibility for/ownership of key project outputs. We also offer new grads exposure to an array of working models (management consulting, investment banking, legal) and a broad variety of industries (semiconductor, consumer electronics, biotech, automotive, etc.).
We work with clients ranging from venture-backed startups to Fortune 500 companies across many industries. Our focus is to help our clients develop and execute strategies for their technology/IP assets and facilitate transactions involving those assets.
We are a small, high-performing team, with offices in Boston and San Francisco. The Analyst will be a core member of the STG team, and will be closely involved in all aspects of the business, including (but not limited to):
- Strategy development: Participate in the full range of strategy development activities for STG clients. Conduct primary research with industry experts and secondary research. Complete financial analysis. Think creatively about strategic options. Synthesize results and present recommendations.
- Transaction advisory: Evaluate opportunities and model economics of potential deals. Contact potential buyers and sellers of IP and participate in negotiation of transactions.
- Client management: Interact with individuals at all levels of STG clients, including senior executives and board members.
- Building the STG business: The Analyst will be a core member of our team, and will be expected to contribute to discussions about the direction of the business. We have a variety of opportunities and directions to consider, and everyone on the team will be involved in defining the path forward.
