Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Network Analyst to join our IT team. The successful candidate will assist in maintaining, monitoring, and optimizing network systems to ensure seamless connectivity and performance. Key Responsibilities:
• Network Monitoring:
• Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and escalate as needed.
• Use tools to analyze network traffic and detect anomalies.
• Network Maintenance:
• Assist in configuring, testing, and maintaining network equipment, such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Perform regular updates and backups to ensure network reliability and security.
• Troubleshooting:
• Respond to user-reported network issues and provide first-level support.
• Collaborate with senior analysts and IT teams to resolve complex problems.
• Documentation:
• Maintain accurate records of network configurations, incidents, and solutions.
• Document processes and procedures for future reference.
• Security Support:
• Assist in implementing and monitoring network security protocols.
• Support efforts to identify and mitigate cybersecurity risks.
• Collaboration:
• Work closely with other IT teams to support infrastructure upgrades and projects.
• Provide input for optimizing network performance and reliability.
Qualifications and Skills:
Technical Skills:
• Networking Fundamentals:
• Solid understanding of basic networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, subnetting, and VLANs.
• Familiarity with network protocols and their purposes (e.g., HTTP, FTP, ICMP).
• Network Devices and Hardware:
• Experience with or willingness to learn about configuring and maintaining network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
• Basic understanding of structured cabling systems and physical network infrastructure.
• Monitoring and Troubleshooting Tools:
• Familiarity with tools like Wireshark, SolarWinds, Nagios, or similar for network monitoring and diagnostics.
• Basic understanding of network performance metrics and log analysis.
• Operating Systems and Servers:
• Exposure to or knowledge of operating systems such as Windows Server, Linux, and basic command-line tools.
• Familiarity with Active Directory and DNS configurations.
• Virtualization and Cloud:
• Awareness of virtualized environments (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
• Basic understanding of virtual networking concepts.
• Security Awareness:
• Understanding of firewalls, VPNs, and basic security best practices.
• Familiarity with access control and network segmentation concepts.
Soft Skills:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
Certifications (Preferred but Not Required):
• CompTIA Network+
• CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate)
• ITIL Foundation or similar
