We’re seeking a Re-Entry Specialist to connect participants with life-changing employment opportunities by building relationships with employers, vocational programs, unions, and more. You’ll provide individual and group support to guide participants in job searching, re-employment, and securing post-secondary education. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Has knowledge and experience of the position’s duties and department’s roles; meets expectations for schedule, attendance, time management, productivity, and work quality.

- Proficient in necessary technical and software skills (Google Suite/Microsoft Office).

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conducts intake and eligibility determinations, and makes referrals for all parivipants; performs assessments and completes participant service plans.
- Coordinates and attends family, service, and team meetings, facilitating wrap-around services with other providers; transports participants as needed.
- Conducts in-reach activities in prisons and jails, engaging with incarcerated individuals to provide support and promote services to support a successful re-entry into the workforce.
- Provides one-on-one assistance and/or facilitates skills-based workshops to prepare for job readiness by building a resume, mock interviews, developing communication skills, and exploring career pathway options.
- Works with participants to support them in securing employment and post-secondary education placement.
- Keeps track of participants' placements and develops solutions with them to maintain placements.
- Work with participants to process supportive service funding, keep track of purchases, and document receipts
- Provide basic financial coaching to participants during the program and once they obtain employment.
- Assists and works closely with SECTOR Program Manager in developing and maintaining employer and information resources. Maintains and distributes a listing of local job opportunities within the organization
- Enters data into participant databases and assists with writing periodic program reports
- Conducts outreach and recruitment strategies to gauge the re-entry population.
- Other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout facilities.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to bend, lift, stretch, climb, and crawl to provide services.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in relevant field and 2 years of workforce development services; or
- Equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Spanish language skills, verbal and written preferred.
- Possess a current California Driver’s License, clean DMV record & adequate auto insurance.
- Must submit to a Department of Justice Criminal background check.
- Initial TB employment clearance required.
- Lived experience of incarceration, close impact or institutionalization a plus.
- Evening and weekend work is required as needed to support the program.
The anticipated pay range for candidates who will work in California is $28.85 to $30.45 hourly. The offered pay to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to years of experience within the job, years of experience within the required industry, education, etc.
