GRACE KIDS COORDINATOR
Title: Grace Kids Coordinator
Core Responsibility: Facilitate and strategically plan for Grace Kids Ministry
Reports To: Children's Pastor
Employee Policies: Grace Community Church Policies and Procedures Manual.
Job Classification: Part Time
Screening: Required to complete GCC Staff Application, Ministry Safe Application, including references for screening, Ministry Safe Child Abuse Training and Background Check as condition of employment.
Team: Children's Pastor and also works closely with Link Coordinator and Grace Students Pastor
Essential Job Tasks:
- General
- Provide a safe, secure and honoring environment for the children of GCC in which they feel seen, heard and loved.
- Encourage volunteers regularly.
- Develop strong relationships with children and their parents
- Act as liaison between parents and leaders as needed.
- Provide a listening ear for parent complaints. Work with Grace Kids Pastor and XP on how to resolve any complaints.
- Champion and support the ministry of Equipping the Next Generation
- Programming
- Prepare materials weekly for teachers (Sundays and Wednesdays)
- Teach age-appropriate lessons when needed
- Guide Grace Kids Volunteers and help resource and prepare them for Grace Kids Programming
- Provide general oversight and direction to the Wednesday Night Program.
- Communicate with small group leaders on how groups are going and provide leadership and coaching
- Act as liason between volunteers and Children's Pastor to help create vibrant and effective groups
- Help plan special events as needed
- Grace Kids (Sunday Mornings at 9:30 & 11am):
- Grace Kids Tribe Night (Wednesday night 6:30):
- Special Events
- Administrative
- Work with Grace Kids Pastor and GCC staff to implement best practices for safety in Grace Kids
- Develop a social media strategy for Grace Kids
- Manage social media presence, content and responses
General Staff Functions
The GCC ministry staff (ministry directors and support staff) operates as a team to serve the overall ministry vision and functions of the church as established by Jesus Christ, the elders and the senior pastor. At times, this may require covering duties of another staff member or doing a task not specifically addressed this job description. In addition to the above, all staff have a general duty to:
- Follow GCC policies and procedures.
- Treat other staff members with dignity, respect and Christian love,
- Communicate differences or disagreements appropriately and work together to resolve conflicts with respect.
- Undergo annual performance evaluation.
Minimum Qualification of Grace Students Coordinator:
- Experience:
- Three (3) years or more in education programming (primary or secondary), children or youth discipleship and/or children or youth ministry.
- Three (3) years of leadership, team-coordinator and/or supervisory experience.
- Teaching, training, speaking skills and experience.
- Administrative experience with budgeting, action plans and curriculum development.
2. Education
- Education training and degree a plus but not required
- Biblical/discipleship training sufficient to teach with competency. Biblical degree is a plus but not required.
3.Natural ability to engage people and make them feel part of a community.
4.Mature adult individual with a heart for youth and their parents.
5.Ability to lead and supervise volunteers.
6.Ability to motivate children, parents and volunteers.
7.Ability to timely and efficiently carry out administrative functions of the job.
8.Ability to function as an integral part of the GCC ministry team, seeing oneself as a vital part of the Holy Spirit’s work to implement the overall vision and values of Grace Community Church.
