Founded in 1990, Request Foods is a privately held, family-owned and operated frozen food manufacturer located in Holland, MI. We produce, package, and ship an assortment of frozen food entrees for Private Labels and National Brands for both the retail and food service markets. Position Details:
- Internship
- 15-20 hours per week
Specific Responsibilities:
- Daily analytical (microbiological, chemical, and physical) testing of ingredients, pre-operational samples, and finished products.
- Sample preparation and shipment to outside labs.
- Entering results in shared spreadsheets
- Daily operational checks of laboratory and equipment.
- Shelf clearing
- Shelf-life testing
- Solution preparation
- Professional development
- Ensure good laboratory practices are used.
- Ability to work in extreme weather environments (Hot, cold, wet)
Required Qualifications:
- Current College student pursuing a degree in Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or Food Science.
- Understanding of laboratory instrumentation and equipment
- Strong problem solving skills, organization skills, and attention to detail are essential.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Outstanding people skills with the ability to work both in a team environment and independently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software—Word and Excel.
