Content Producer (Hybrid)

Summary 

Join our success! We are looking for a content producer who will be responsible for helping to create and maintain educational products from product initiation through to deployment to our members via an Open edX learning management system. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of UX principals, some HTML coding experience, a working knowledge of learning management systems, and an exceptional attention to detail.  An ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team is a must.  

Description 

  • Work collaboratively with Instructional Designers and UX designers in support of content creation  
  • Work collaboratively with Graphic Designers to help create and shape the look and feel of educational content  
  • Understand the capabilities of the Open edX LMS and how those capabilities can support content creation  
  • Collaborate with the Learning Content & Systems Administrator to utilize the organization’s LMS to maximize the efficiency and deployment of content, recommending system improvements when necessary  
  • Build eLearnings that follow the layout and directive of Instructional Designers, as outlined via storyboards 
  • Work seamlessly across multiple platforms (including the LMS, Articulate, and others as required) to build eLearnings  
  • Write and develop adult learning content that will be available in multiple platforms and formats, including videos, tutorials, microlearnings, resource guides, and more 
  • Work with the Learning Content & Systems Administrator to understand the product review cycle and field update requests in a timely manner 
  • Based on the review of the Learning Content & Systems Administrator, make updates to various educational content and materials including eLearnings, PDF content, video tutorials, and web pages  
  • Write descriptions for resources and content; create keyword lists to support SEO and internal search  
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for other teams in the organization in regards to Toastmasters’ educational content  
  • Provide the Learning Content & Systems Administrator with information to determine prioritization of system enhancements and the need for IT support for education products  
  • Help to build communication plans and draft member communications related to the education program (changes, additions, and other impacts) 
  • Serve on committees and working groups as needed and provide creative solutions to challenges  
  • Prepare status reports, meeting presentations, and other documents as needed 
  • Review and copy edit department materials, as needed  
  • Support the Education Development Team in providing content that is accessible  
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by Education Development Manager

  • Ability to follow project plans and adhere to all deliverables and deadlines 
  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn e-learning technology such as new LMS platforms and Articulate 360  
  • Experience in Open edX Learning Management Systems desired but not required 
  • Strong copy editing skills desired but not required
