Summer Camp Classroom Leader
We are seeking an energetic and dynamic Summer Camp Classroom Leader.
The Wood County Board of Developmental Disabilities (WCBDD) coordinates services for over 1,000 people with developmental disabilities in Wood County. Our mission is to support, empower, and inspire.
The ideal candidate will be a highly self-motivated problem solver, flexible, detail oriented, and is a team player with time management skills, organizational skills, and leadership skills.

- Bi-Weekly Hours: 56, part-time temporary (Summer Camp is June 9 - July 24, 2025)

- Normal Working Hours: M-Th, 8:15a - 3:15p; hours may vary according to agency need
Job Responsibilities:
Collaborates with Summer Camp Director and WCBDD School Paraprofessionals.
Oversees, trains, and provides guidance for assigned Summer Camp Student Attendants.
Communicates and disseminates Day Camp information to and from Summer Camp Director/WCBDD School Paraprofessionals and Summer Camp Student Attendants.
Assists Summer Camp Student Attendants provide for daily behavioral needs and/or health needs of assigned students. Assists the Summer Camp Staff in planning and implementing all Summer Camp programming to assigned participants. Present an active participation role in all Summer Camp activities.
- Follows Positive Support First Guidelines as appropriate and per policy of the WCBDD Board.
- Assists enrollees with mobility, physical, and self-care needs (i.e. ambulation, positioning, feeding, toileting, getting on and off transportation vehicles, outdoor access for recess/recreation/emergencies).
- Assists in maintaining accurate records and reports (i.e. attendance, program objectives, monies, recording data, incident reports, and training).
- Prepares materials needed for instruction, teaching aids, bulletin board, etc.
- Assists in the implementation of daily activities.
- Assists in operating instructional technology and adaptive equipment.
- Attends scheduled staff meetings and completes assigned training.
- Maintains a cooperative relationship with Summer School Staff, Wood County Board of DD staff, and administration.
- Maintains a classroom environment conducive to learning and free of health and safety hazards.
- Understands and implements emergency and evacuation procedures.
- Duties such as, but not limited to, assuming duties of absent staff member, documenting an unusual incident, recording, planning, assisting with a special recreational activity, etc. Assume other related duties as assigned by supervisor and or administration.

Education/Experience Requirements
- Must have high school diploma or GED.
- Two (2) years/2 summers serving individuals with developmental disabilities preferred
- Experience in a “summer camp” setting preferred.
