Bible Content Expert for Christian School Curriculum
Reports to: Manger of Curriculum Development for Christian Schools
The Bible Curriculum Content Expert is a key position to our Christian school curriculum team for elementary through high school and in multiple subject areas, including Bible, history, science, and apologetics. This individual will work with all members of the team to ensure that the lessons are:
- intentionally written from a biblical worldview
- biblically relevant in today’s culture
- accurately portrays the context in Scripture
- apologetically minded
- historically aligned with the Bible
- boldly proclaims the authority of Scripture
This qualified individual must have an understanding of the multiple facets of Christian school curriculum and have grade level discernment while developing and reviewing written content. This content expert must be a team player and ensure biblical integrity and quality of the final product.
We are looking for an individual who adheres to biblical authority, is teachable, presuppositional, and knows Answers in Genesis content, material, resources, and the website thoroughly. This individual must also be able to write/edit from a non-denominational viewpoint and avoid denominational debates. The qualified individual should be able to present a positive case for biblical doctrine (e.g., 6-day Creation, the Fall, the Flood, Tower of Babel, Triune God, Resurrection, etc.) and actively refute false worldviews including the secular humanistic viewpoint dominating our culture today (e.g., with its tenets like big bang, millions of years, abortion, gender issues, and evolution).
As this position is a content position within the ministry of Answers in Genesis, this role will also be working with management and leadership to ensure consistency of the AiG message.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that the curriculum is sound biblically and aligns with AiG’s positions
- Create a curriculum that is apologetically heavy while remaining outside of denominational stances
- Work with the Christian school curriculum team to develop the scope and sequence, unit goals, and lesson objectives from a biblical viewpoint
- Work with the writers to develop biblical content and assessments for each lesson that is grade appropriate
- Review content and make edits as necessary
- Have a teachable heart that is always willing to learn and grow in content
- Work collaboratively with subject matter experts and instructional designers
- Adapt and evaluate course effectiveness
- Continuously improve and update content based on feedback
- Promote the mission and standards of Answers in Genesis.
- Prioritize personal integrity in all interactions and assignments
- And all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management
Qualifications
Requirements
- Must agree with and be able to sign our Statement of Faith.
- Maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
- Regular attendance at a local Bible-believing church
- Must be able to work on-site at the offices of Answers in Genesis.
- Extensive knowledge of creation/evolution issues
- Thorough working knowledge of presuppositional apologetics, especially in relation to young-earth/biblical creation
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Research skills
- Ability to multi-task, organize, prioritize, and follow multiple projects and tasks through to completion with an attention to detail
- Ability to work under deadlines
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office
- Aptitude for computers and technology
- Ability to give and receive criticism with a graceful and teachable spirit
Education & Experience
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree in education, science, history, or apologetics with excellent writing and communication skills
- Two years of experience in Christian school classroom teaching
- Recent experience in curriculum development and writing preferred but not required
- Very knowledgeable in the Bible and apologetics
