Job Summary:

 

OSU -Cascades is seeking a salaried Academic Wage: Research Engineer. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE ), 12-month, fixed-term position. This position is anticipated to last approximately six months.


 

This position is located in Bend, Oregon.

 

This position will lead a sponsored research project by planning work, executing project objectives and giving some direction to student researchers.

Key Responsibilities

 

60% Lead experimentation on desalination unit to fulfill sponsors requirements as detailed in the scope of work document (to be provided)

 

10% Design and fabrication of electrical and mechanical systems

 

5% Calibration and care of instrumentation for measurements

 

5% Control system design and development

 

5% Subcontractor and student researcher oversight

 

5% Lead safety person the laboratory

 

5% Report writing

 

5% Liaise with sponsor

 

What You Will Need

 

• BS in Energy Systems Engineer

• 2+ years of industry experience

• Design and fabrication skills

• SolidWorks Certified Solid Works Professional

 

What We Would Like You to Have

 

Energy sector experience.

 

Working Conditions / Work Schedule

 

Laboratory work environment which requires lifting and other mobility type activities.
