Student Assistant Internship (Administration), Ref# 8649

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be a US citizen or foreign national eligible to work in the United States
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must be currently attending a New York State college, university or graduate program, or be a resident of New York State attending a college, university or graduate program outside of New York State
• Must have completed a minimum of one (1) year as a student at a degree-granting two or four-year college or university (completion of one year’s worth of academic credits over a more extended period of time may qualify part-time students) OR currently enrolled graduate student or accepted in a graduate degree program
• Must have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 or equivalent to a C.

 

Duties Description

Under the direction of the Office Support Manager 1 within the Space Planning Unit, the position will function as a Student Assistant in the Space Planning Unit team assisting in analyze ITS space needs reflect changes in Division, Bureau, and Section due to dedicated model changes. Perform as a member of the team supporting agencies space planning goals.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to: 
a. Assists Operation Support Manager 1(OSM1) in analyzing, developing, and providing space recommendation for Agency Executives, directors, and managers. 
b. Will work closely with eh OSM1 to meet office and agency program needs by conducting assessments. 
c. Assist OSM1 and program manager in defining, selecting, and purchasing of agency space assets. 
d. Draft procedures to describe, revise, and control space assignment activities. 
e. Compiles data and prepares reports and recommendations about space needs. 
f. Conduct walkthroughs to verify data and/or floorplans. 
g. Prepares and follow-ups of Tenant Alterations Request (TAR). 
h. Update floorplans as needed. 
i. Develops space management controls. 
j. Assists with other tasks as assigned.
