We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Job Summary
Surry is looking for two Engineer I/II/III or Engineering Technical Specialist I/II/III in Engineering Coordination & Programs. Will be assigned several engineering coordination roles as primary or back up (for example: Engineering Representative for Corrective Action, Work Management, Outage Focus Teams, and/or Plant Health Working Group) as the site lead as well as serve as a backup to other program leads on the team. This individual will also be involved with the engineering department work processes, scheduling (online and refueling outage), Maintenance Rule (M-Rule Coordinator), and Department Self Evaluation Meetings (DSEM). This role does not function as a technician in modifying, operating or maintaining systems or equipment. Provides technical support, direction and advice in analyzing and evaluating systems, equipment and programs. Provides technical support, direction and advice in analyzing and evaluating systems, equipment and programs. Plans and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria. Devises new approaches to problems encountered and develops engineering criteria ensuring compliance with design criteria and standards. Implements technology within an engineering field. Applies scientific and engineering principles and methods, along with technical skills, to support engineering activities. May provide technical project management including scoping, scheduling, budget development, cost tracking and oversight of complex projects to meet cost and time objectives. Work in coordination with the Outage & Planning department to ensure engineering work items are properly scheduled. Be able to participate in cross-functional team discussions involving the work planning and execution processes. Participate in the regular occurring DSEM where the engineering department leadership evaluates the team’s performance and areas for improvement. Assist in developing actions to be taken to achieve exceptional team performance.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
1-3 Years of relevant experience (Engineer I & Engineer Tech Specialist I)
In-depth knowledge of engineering principals, theories and practices. Ability to apply knowledge, techniques, skills and modern tools of mathematics, science, engineering, and technology to solve broadly-defined engineering problems appropriate to the discipline. Strong oral, written and graphical communication skills including technical writing; ability to identify and use appropriate technical literature. Ability to conduct standard tests, measurements and experiments. Ability to analyze and interpret the results to improve processes. Ability to function effectively independently and as a member on a technical team. Excellent organization and project management skills. Excellent personal computer skills including knowledge of applicable software programs.
REQUIRED ENGINEERING CRITERIA: For placement of a candidate in the Engineer job series, the following criteria must be met: Possess a 4-year Engineering degree from an ABET accredited Engineering program based on the year that the Engineering program was accredited by ABET, or Possess a 4-year Engineering degree from an institution outside of the U.S. which is accredited through the country's own Engineering accrediting body under the Washington Accord as a full signatory, and is a degree that was recognized by the country's accrediting body on or after the date that full signatory status was achieved, or Possess a 4-year degree in Engineering (non-ABET accredited), Physics, Chemistry, Math or Engineering Technology and a post-graduate Engineering degree from an institution where the undergraduate degree in the same Engineering discipline is ABET-accredited based on the year the Engineering program was accredited by ABET, or Holds or has previously held a valid U.S. Professional Engineer license

For Nuclear purposes only ANSI 3.1-2014, Section 4.6.1 (must be documented on form HR-AA-101)
Education: Baccalaureate degree in Engineering or related science (Physics, Chemistry, Math, Engineering Technology acceptable if all other pieces of the third prong of the Required Engineering Criteria listed in KSA section are met).
Minimum Experience for the position:
Related experience which shall include 2 yrs; Nuclear power plant experience to include 1 yr.
Note: Years of experience in job summary exceed the ANSI requirement for related experience (5+ years required for Engineer III).

Experience with Commercial Nuclear Design Process including Request for Engineering Assistance, Desing Change, Acceptance Checklist, and the Closeout Process.
Experience with Corrective Action Teams.
Experience with Department Self-Evaluations.
Experience with running Plant Health Working Groups and facilitating Plant Health Steering Committee meetings.
Experience with running and managing Departmental meetings.
Experience with running and maintaining Websites.
Experience with Microsoft applications such as Power BI and Copilot.
Experience with work scheduling and use of Primavera P6 scheduling software.
Experience with walking down and understanding nuclear power plant piping systems (i.e. Non-Licensed Operator).
Positive, optimistic team player with a solution oriented attitude.
Prior SRO license and/or STA certification desired, not required.
Demonstrated ability to understand a wide variety of topics and be sufficiently intrusive to ensure all work items under their area of responsibility are produced with the highest of quality including technical accuracy.
Demonstrate high integrity, safety, professionalism and appropriate behavior driven results.
Be a strong advocate to communicate and elevate issues in a timely manner
