Job Description:

This is technical services work in performing difficult and moderately complex engineering duties in a variety of field and office engineering specialties. This position serves as a member of the Maine DOT Property Office based out of the MDOT Regional Headquarters in Presque Isle, Maine.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Gathering property owner information impacted by DOT projects and entering that information into the Reality Management Database as well as sending out Survey Notice letters,
• Compiling Property Owner Reports,
• Mapping preliminary property owner information and property lines into Right of Way plan sheets,
• Researching deeds for survey monumentation and will locate and delineate that monumentation in the field, and,
• Acting as a member of a Regional Survey Crew under the supervision of the Party Chief or direct Supervisor.

Assignments are received in person, over the phone or via email. Supervision is exercised over subordinate technical personnel performing moderately complex tasks.

To be minimally qualified for this position candidates must provide evidence of the following experience:

Five (5) years of experience in engineering –OR- an Associate Degree in Engineering or a related technical field and three (3) years of experience in engineering -OR- a Bachelors Degree in Engineering or a related technical field and one (1) year of experience in engineering.
