About the Company: HIPnation offers our members a unique approach to healthcare using the Direct Primary Care model. Our focus is exclusively upon providing great medical care to people. Our Physicians see 6-8 patients per day, thus allowing both Physicians and Care Coordinators to provide the highest level of individualized care. We give our members 24/7 access to their Physicians via phone, text, and telemedicine. We promote the Physician-Patient relationship, and we do not use insurance in the Primary Care office.
Job Description: In this role you will work closely with both Physicians and patients to provide the highest level of healthcare. The role requires a high level of friendliness and engagement along with great verbal and written communication skills.
As a key member of the healthcare team, you must act as patient advocate, responding with empathy and respect to resolve patient and family concerns, and proactively recognizing and acting upon opportunities to meet our members’ medical and care needs. You must be able to work both independently and as a team member.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Answering phones, confirming appointments, setting up and managing office schedules, verifying patient membership eligibility, and collecting fees from patients.
- Being proficient in phlebotomy, performing EKGs, obtaining patient medical history, and checking blood pressure and vital signs.
- Learning and understanding the HIPnation model to be able to explain to patients how to obtain the healthcare they need.
- Increasing continuity of care by managing specialty referrals.
- Connecting patients to relevant community resources, with the goal of enhancing patient health and well-being, increasing patient satisfaction, and reducing healthcare costs.
- Promoting timely access to appropriate care.
- Actively pursuing a mindset of learning, continuing to educate oneself on providing quality care, deepening understanding of medicine and medical care, and improving your professional skills.
Two or more years of experience as a certified medical assistant, consistency of being on time and present at work, professional appearance, and a positive and respectful attitude are required. Spanish speaking is a plus.
