What we are looking for:
Yazaki is looking for a motivated Summer Intern to join our Human Resources team in Canton, MI. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative, results-oriented environment and is eager to make meaningful contributions to the organization. This internship runs full-time from May 12, 2025, to August 15, 2025.
What you will be doing:
- Project Work: The HR intern will gain exposure to various HR functions, including Employee Relations, Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Global Mobility, and HRIS. While the intern may contribute to short-term projects across these areas, their primary focus will be on supporting a project centered on culture and well-being. They will play an active role in shaping, proposing, and implementing this initiative.
- Success Metrics: Successful implementation of a culture and well-being initiative.
- Collaboration: The HR intern will have the opportunity to collaborate with HR team members across the US and Mexico. Additionally, they will engage in networking with fellow interns, cross-functional team members, organizational leaders, and potentially external service providers
What you will bring to the table:
- Education: Enrollment in a 4-year degree program at an accredited institution during the internship period.
- Relevant Background: Pursuing a degree in Human Resources or a related degree
- Academic Standing: A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Commitment: Availability to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks between May 12, 2025, and August 15, 2025
- Technical Skills: Completed coursework in the HR field; Proficiency using MS PowerPoint to create engaging presentations as well as using MS Excel to create and manipulate data using sort/filter, v-look up and pivot table creation functions
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and critical-thinking abilities. Professionalism and confidentiality is a must.
