Research Specialist A in the Abt Lab @ UPENN

An opening is available in Abt lab for a motivated, well-organized, and detail-oriented individual looking for a position as a Research Technician. 

 
The successful candidate will support ongoing research in the lab by processing and culturing primary immune cells and cell lines, culturing anaerobic bacteria, conducting flow cytometry, performing qPCR, ELISAs, and next generation sequencing, as well as breeding and PCR genotyping mice. The Research Technician will also be responsible for lab inventorying, ordering, organization, and planning. The laboratory is a highly collaborative and supportive training environment in which successful candidates will be given the opportunity to directly contribute to projects. Moreover, successful projects in which the candidate participates will lead to opportunities for authorship on scientific manuscripts. 

This position is full time and is available for the successful candidate to start late spring/early summer. Prior laboratory experience in mouse handling, immunology, microbiology or related fields is highly desired, but not required.
