Application Technician

General Inspection is seeking a passionate Application Technician working as a bridge between customers and engineering teams, Application Technicians use customer input and sales information to design or re-design, develop, test and implement complex software programs and applications. They also provide technical support and expertise to customers, testing applications, responding to customer feedback, installations, maintenance and often performing sales presentations and demonstrations.
Here at General Inspection, you will be exposed to new and exciting technologies such as classical computer vision, laser technology, general purpose automation, robot pick and place, and so much more. No previous experience with these technologies is required.
Responsibilities:
· Generate test reports from sample parts provided by potential customers. Detailed reports include pertinent information such as:
o Success or not for each required characteristic
o Repeatability on key dimensional features
o Screenshots of visual defect detection
o Complete and file internal testing notes
· Keep parts labeled and organized.
· Make use of the demonstration room and the available sensors, demo machines, and customer machines.
o Keep the demo room clean and organized.
· Set up for online and in person demonstrations.
o Use customer parts if available, or parts similar to what that customer manufactures.
o Set up a template on the machine the customer is interested in.
o Be involved in the demonstration for any questions the customer may have.
· Be involved in software testing.
o Testing new software versions
o Testing new software tools
o Reporting any software bugs found during testing.
Requirements:
· Ability to use Microsoft Office products.
· Must learn how to operate General Inspection’s software.
· Have innovative thinking when it comes to the task at hand.
· Demonstrate the ability to seek assistance when necessary.
· Ability to work on site in Davisburg, MI.

Pay: $36,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
