Woodworking Counselor

Who we are

Camp Cody is a co-ed Summer Camp in Freedom, New Hampshire. Since 1926, we have been providing unique experiences for campers and staff of all ages from around the world. Our Cody team is made up of teachers, athletes, coaches, creatives, hikers, bikers, travelers, and so much more. Together, we provide a safe and fun environment where campers and staff create life-long memories. 


 

What you’ll be doing

The Woodworking Counselor will oversee our woodshop. As the Woodworking Counselor, you will lead and instruct campers in various projects throughout the summer, ensuring all health and safety measures are maintained. The woodshop is one of our camper's favorite areas; creating plaques, bird houses, and more!


 

What we need from you

  • Develop and deliver engaging programming appropriate based on various developmental levels, ages, and skills. 
  • Assist campers in planning and designing projects, while overseeing and guiding the campers throughout the various phases of the project. 
  • Communicate and implement all woodworking safety protocols, and ensure rules and regulations are being followed by all campers and staff. 
  • Maintain the care and cleanliness of the woodworking shed. 
  • Supervise and support campers and ensure safety, development, growth and general well-being.
  • Communicate and collaborate with other camp staff members to facilitate positive camper experiences inside of the cabin and during activities. 


 

What skills & experience you’ll bring to us

  • Proven experience in working with children. 
  • Experience in woodworking, and proven knowledge of utilizing tools, and instructing projects. 
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Physical ability to lead activities for 6 to 8 hours per day.
  • Displays energetic and positive personality. 


 

Salary & benefits

Camp Cody offers a competitive salary ($400 per week, increased based on experience), room and board, staff training, weekly laundry service, camp t-shirts, weekly day-off, access to our snack-stocked staff lounge, and lifelong friendships! International staff salaries may differ slightly to accommodate for sponsoring agency fees.

Staff Training: 6/10/25 - 6/21/25

Summer Camp: 6/22/25 - 8/16/25
