Corporate Law Intern

Position Specific Description

NextEra Energy is seeking a first-year law school student interested in corporate law and corporate governance of public companies and subsidiaries for an in-person summer internship opportunity starting in May 2025 in Juno Beach, Florida. This is a paid internship position and will provide mentoring and practical hands-on experience.  The intern will assist NextEra Energy attorneys in the office of the Corporate Secretary and Subsidiary Governance with legal research on corporate and securities law issues, research on compliance issues, analysis of shareholder proposals presented in proxy statements, researching various shareholder activism topics,  and supporting the subsidiary governance team by preparing legal documents such as corporate consent, limited liability company agreements, bylaws, articles of incorporation and such other items as required. This position is only open to law school students who will have completed their first year of law school by May 2025.  The position will not be open to second- and third-year law students. 

 

Job Overview

Interns in the role will be provided mentoring and practical hands on experience in activities related to the law department.

•   Conducts legal research and studies proposed and existing litigation

•   Assists attorneys in preparing and conducting legal transactions
