Position: Surplus Warehouse Attendant
GENERAL PURPOSE
As a Surplus Warehouse Attendant, you will be responsible for receiving, sorting, and storing inventory. This includes delivery of ethanol on/off campus, shredding data devices, and researching/staging/listing inventory on an online auction site for redistributive/sale purposes. Additionally, this position will oversee redistribution transactions during ‘Open-House’ events. This position is off-campus, located at the Surplus warehouse on 16th street in Indianapolis (1.8 miles from campus).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (assign % of time spent in each area = total 100%)
· Receiving, sorting, storing inventory. 40%
· Ethanol delivery. 20%
· Online auction process. 20%
· ‘Open-House’ attendant. 10%
· Assist with other projects as needed. 10%
DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· Valid driver’s license & able to drive for university
· Interest in and passion for sustainability
· Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
· Critical thinker, ability to develop well-reasoned and comprehensive solutions.
· Strong desire and ability to learn, be independent, and take initiative.
· Creative, motivated, and energetic.
· Enrolled in IU Indianapolis courses
