Experienced Video Content Producer/Editor

About Us: Youtube Creator @larrycheungcfa is a leading finance-focused YouTube channel dedicated to delivering high-quality, engaging content on investing, macroeconomics, and financial modeling. We're exploring the potential opportunity to transition to a faceless channel format to focus on visually appealing, high-value content.

The channel owner, Larry Cheung, is also the Founder at Tigerway Prep (a top rated educational company focused on academics and test prep for college admissions).

 

Position Overview:
We’re seeking a creative and detail-oriented Video Content Producer/Editor to drive the creation of faceless finance videos. This staff member will work closely with the channel owner to produce high-quality content that is both educational and visually compelling. It would be ideal if the Video Content Producer/Editor has a strong and deep grasp of economics/finance to create insightful and compelling videos with the channel owner's voiceover. 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Script Development:
    • Collaborate with the channel owner to research and create concise, engaging, and accurate scripts on finance topics.
    • Use storytelling techniques to simplify complex financial concepts.
  2. Video Editing:
    • Edit beautifully edited videos using tools like Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve.
    • Incorporate relevant stock footage, animated charts, text overlays, and other visuals to enhance viewer engagement.
  3. Animation and Visuals:
    • Create custom animations, infographics, and whiteboard visuals using tools like Canva, After Effects, or Doodly.
    • Source and curate high-quality stock images and footage to complement scripts.
  4. Branding and Design:
    • Ensure videos maintain a cohesive brand identity, including thumbnails, text styles, and overall design.
    • Design eye-catching thumbnails to drive clicks and engagement.
  5. Optimization and Trends:
    • Stay updated on YouTube trends, SEO, and analytics to optimize content for discoverability.
    • Analyze performance metrics to refine and improve content strategy.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in video production and editing, preferably for YouTube or social media.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing past work in faceless or educational content.
  • Expertise in video editing and design tools (e.g., Adobe Suite, Canva, Doodly).
  • Strong understanding of finance topics (e.g., investing, personal finance) or strong ability to research areas to gain expertise .
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Skills:

  • End-to-end experience with the production process from scripting to editing the video. 
  • Insightful research abilities that will allow the video script to have its content shine in the video through its well-researched and interesting talking points.
  • Experience with text-to-speech software (e.g., Murf.ai).
  • Knowledge of YouTube's Algorithm, SEO, and analytics tools.
  • Creative problem-solving skills to turn ideas into engaging visuals.
