Join us in this role where you’ll be a part of a 10-week immersive summer experience designed to strengthen your development through tailored programming focused on three key aspects: exposure to our core business, vision centered and collaborative experiential learning, and professional development. You’ll be part of a team that gets people to “Yes.” Whether it’s working on building support for state legislation or approval for a local permit, you will join a core team of three colleagues each with a government affairs background who thrive on a challenge.
Welcome to Government Affairs and Market Strategy
You’ll be part of the Growth and New Market, Onshore Team where you, together with your colleagues, will help tackle knotty problems that once resolved will set up our onshore projects for success. From reviewing state bills and regulations covering such topics as taxes, siting, and endangered species habitat to talking with local communities about our wind, solar, and battery storage projects, the team deals with a wide-range of issues, creating an environment that will provide the practical experience you seek. As a team we
not only anticipates and overcome state and local government affairs obstacles, we also engage in creative problems solving with our Development, Mergers and Acquisition, Construction, Operations, Origination, Communications, and Branding and Marketing teams.
You’ll play an important role in:
- tracking state and local siting policies, which are critical to the success of our onshore energy renewable projects
- planning our community outreach efforts
- assisting in executing our community outreach
- bolstering our efforts working with state and local elected officials
- curating our messaging library to assist team in educating stakeholders.
To succeed in the role, you:
- enjoy working on a team, being accountable, and no fear of failure
- have strong research and organization skills
- must have must have experience with the Microsoft suite of apps and a willingness to learn other platforms
- are a collaborator who looks forward to taking on new opportunities and challenges with a sense of urgency and enthusiasm.
- should be able to start in-person on June 9, 2025 for intern orientation.
