Minimum Qualifications
• Must be a US citizen or foreign national eligible to work in the United States
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must be currently attending a New York State college, university or graduate program, or be a resident of New York State attending a college, university or graduate program outside of New York State
• Must have completed a minimum of one (1) year as a student at a degree-granting two or four-year college or university (completion of one year’s worth of academic credits over a more extended period of time may qualify part-time students) OR currently enrolled graduate student or accepted in a graduate degree program
• Must have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 or equivalent to a C.
Duties Description
The Student Assistant will provide the Engineering Services team assistance with reviewing, fulfilling and transitioning Engineering Intakes
Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Use of the NYS ticketing system ITSM Service Now to manage all aspects of tickets related to the Engineering Intake process. This includes assigning, updating and reporting on ITSM Service Now requests.
• Review Intake requests to verify all information that has been submitted is in compliance with NYS ITS standards
• Provide technical guidance to ITS and agency application staff on how to fill out the Bill of Materials and submit Engineering Intake requests
• Update requests and assign to the appropriate build team.
• Monitor and track the progress of the Intakes
• Perform QA to verify the build has been completed as requested.
• Follow processes to transition completed builds to the Data Center Hosting Operations teams.
• Run ITSM reports to provides status of Intakes
• Work to improve and automate the process as needed
