Research & Development Intern - South Bend, IN (Molding Products)
The R&D Intern will be responsible for providing technical support focusing on new product development that will have a significant impact on business objectives. The Intern will assist the R&D department with projects from organizing, managing and completing complex material design and process development projects.
Requirements:
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in chemistry
- Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. consistently and handle 55 gallon drums on dollies and lifts
- Multi-task oriented with very good organizational and planning skills
- Ability to follow work instructions and procedures
- Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint computer programs
Essential Functions:
- Basic chemical lab work including mixing, measurements,
- Involved in new product development
- Function and contribute within a team environment
- Execute and plan development projects
- Must be able to create reports detailing results from the project
- Record and organize test results
- Maintain a clean work area
- Follow all company policies and procedures
- Perform any other duties as directed by management
Must be able to work in a chemical environment with fiberglass reinforcements. This position will be handling chemicals, weighing chemicals, handling fiberglass, mixing paste and pouring pastes
