What you'll do
As a Supply Planning Intern within the Business Operations Department, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating and integrating various facets of sustainment support activities for our customers. This is an outstanding opportunity to contribute to special projects that focus on customer service, repair and sparing processes, cost/benefit analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
You will be a part of a dynamic, cross-functional environment, executing contract scope, and collaborating with multiple teams. Your role will require coordinating logistics and support services across various Viasat locations to ensure sustainment support for programs and customers.
The day-to-day
- Lead project planning and implementation activities for internship projects, including communicating key takeaways and results
- Develop and support continuous improvement activities in collaboration with Program Management teams
- Plan and coordinate depot support activities and global service parts logistics
- Manage reverse logistics process flows across distribution channels for network spares
- Determine optimum inventory levels and field stocking locations
- Generate ongoing metrics on cost, performance, and customer satisfaction
- Contribute to corporate-wide logistics strategy development
Internship Program Details:
You will work onsite at a Viasat office location for the duration of your 12-13 week internship. Viasat embraces a flexible work environment and onsite/hybrid work is determined by individual roles and teams
Housing and relocation assistance are available to interns pending eligibility
To ensure equity across our intern population, intern compensation is pre-determined based on a variety of factors including: role, location, and final graduation date. Intern compensation is non-negotiable
What you'll need
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Global Supply Chain Management, Industrial & Systems Engineering, or a related field
- To be eligible for this position your final graduation date must fall between December 2025 and June 2026
- Strong leadership, collaboration, and facilitation skills
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Exceptional follow-up and customer service skills
- US citizenship is required for this position
Internship Dates:
You must be available for the full duration of the 12-13 week internship program. Note limited exceptions may be granted. Viasat offers two options based on semester and quarter academic calendars:
Cohort 1: May 20th, 2025 – August 15th, 2025
Cohort 2: June 17th, 2025 – September 12th, 2025
What will help you on the job
- Experience with Industrial Engineering, Industrial Technology, or Supply Chain
- Familiarity with continuous process improvement methodologies, such as 5S, Lean, or Six Sigma
- Experience with Python or similar programming languages
Salary range
$20.91 - $56.97 / hourly.
