Recruitment Analyst
This is a 12 month Limited-Term Full-Time position that may be extended or become Permanent.
The California Department of Public is a highly visible Department dedicated to advancing the health and well-being of the diverse communities and people in California. We are a department of approximately 5,000 employees which administers over 200 programs statewide.
The Human Resources Division provides guidance, support, and expertise to the department for the recruitment, development, training, and retention of quality employees.
The Recruitment unit assists Centers, Divisions, Offices, and programs with outreach efforts by attending recruitment events, advertising vacancies, consulting with hiring supervisors and managers, and reaching out to both passive and interested candidates to educate them on the hiring process as well as the positions that CDPH hire for. The Recruitment Unit (RU) administers department-wide recruitment efforts with a focus on hard to fill positions and is dedicated to helping teams attract, hire, and retain an empowered, diverse workforce to achieve each division’s mission. The CDPH Human Resource Division (HRD) is hiring a Recruitment Analyst in the Recruitment Unit. The Recruitment Analyst will develop and implement recruitment strategies including, recruiting through various job posting sites, social media sites, and recruitment events; identifying alternate and innovative options to create interest in Department specific classifications that are difficult to recruit for; making recommendations and offering solutions on advertising programs vacancies. The Recruitment Analyst will independently review and analyze their designated CDPH programs’ recruitment practices to identify necessary changes and improvements.
The ideal candidate will have interest and experience in human resources and recruitment. The selected candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively, proactively, and independently. The analyst is expected to communicate with management, follow up to ensure matters are addressed timely and appropriately, demonstrate open-mindedness and flexibility, and display tact.
CDPH partners with various educational institutions, and associations to educate candidates about CDPH’s hiring process, vacancies, and application best practices. Through our partnerships we attend various in person and virtual career fairs and informational sessions presenting and speaking to interested individuals. The Recruitment analyst will be asked to attend various events both in person and virtually.
