
LHSI Intern: Administrative Intern; Nursing Intern
Program Summary:
This internship is offered as a part of the Life-Health Sciences Internship Program (LHSI). This program connects 125 IUI undergraduates per year with internships on campus with faculty and staff in a variety of health and science related campus areas/programs. All LHSI internships start in August 2025 and end in May 2026 and are paid $13/hour for up to 10 hours per week. Work-study is accepted but not required.

Overview of the internship site: The CRC is a 24-room unit in University Hospital where a variety of clinical research (over 200 studies) on campus is performed. We are a complete research facility with research studies from 18 departments on campus. We offer investigators the best in research administration and skilled nursing support. There are a variety of opportunities to enhance your administration and nursing knowledge.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Administrative Intern: interns will assist with data entry, research protocol tracking for numerous Depts/Divisions using the CRC, creating/maintaining Excel reports and daily functions.
- Nursing Intern (nursing majors only): patient care support activities such as checking patients in/out, serving meals, collecting drugs from Pharmacy, vitals and phlebotomy (if certified).
Work Environment and Dress Code: The work is performed primarily in an office setting with dress code business casual for the office; scrubs for nursing
Hours per week: flexible based on student needs (10 maximum), scheduling is flexible within regular work hours
Project-specific qualifications: An individual who is passionate and eager to learn. No special prerequisites required. All skills and certifications will be completed during internship.

LHSI Qualifications
· must be graduating May 2027 or after (usually a current freshman or sophomore in Spring 2025)
· Current full-time IUI undergraduate
· minimum overall GPA of 2.0
· All majors welcome
