The Los Angeles Dodgers are seeking a People Operations Assistant who serves as an employee champion, helping to organize, coordinate and execute key department projects and processes. We are looking for a creative, driven individual with a strong ability to get things done. As a member of our dynamic team, you’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with employees at all levels of the organization. The People Operations Assistant will provide administrative and operational support across multiple functional areas, with a particular focus on event planning. This role involves assisting with employee inquiries, maintaining People Operations database and employee records, and support key functions such as onboarding. Additionally, you will be supporting the coordination of special events – from concept development and venue booking to vendor management and logistics coordination. Essential skills for success include excellent communication, project management, and problem-solving abilities, as well as the capacity to handle any challenges that may arise.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain electronic employee files, ensuring accurate data entry for newly hired and terminated employees
- Respond to employment verification inquiries, audit employee files, and provide relevant information to authorized individuals, ensuring all documents are filed accurately and remain confidential
- Use the HRIS System to gather, analyze data, prepare reports, and manage personnel files for a diverse workforce
- Serve as a key source of People Operations information, responding to employee inquiries and staying informed about company policies, employee benefits, and other People Operations related matters
- Provide clerical support to the People Operations team, assisting with administrative tasks
- Prepare materials and create content for employee communications using tools like Canva, Powerpoint, Sharepoint (company intranet) and other related software
- Cover Front Office Receptionist duties on a consistent, alternating schedule throughout the week
- Support new hire process by ensuring all essential paperwork is accurately completed and submitted to the appropriate parties
- Assist People Operations Business Partner with new hire orientation sessions.
- Help in distributing employee giveaways and other incentives
- Support employee engagement events, overseeing everything from setup to teardown.
- Foster positive employee relations and assist in resolving any employee concerns and issues
- Manage office supply orders to ensure adequate stock and timely delivery
- Schedule meetings and appointments for People Operations team
- Coordinate employee incentives programs, including FPIC and Sell-Out Cookies
- Create and maintain Microsoft Forms and reports for employee events and initiatives
- Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned
Basic Requirements/Qualifications:
- Positive and friendly demeanor
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Highly organized and efficient worker; skilled at multi-tasking
- Reliable and personable; enjoy working with a diverse range of individuals and ensuring employee requirements and needs are met first
- Ability to analyze data and provide recommendations
- Ability to lift 25 pounds
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing and handling files and records
- Familiarity with HRIS systems
- Experience with PowerPoint, Canva and Excel
- Experience with Event Planning
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Must have a valid California Driver’s License, with a verifiable satisfactory driving record, and safely operate a company supplied motor vehicle, daily, for duties related to this position
- Two (2) years of college education in a related field and/or equivalent work experience
