Intern - Engineering and Solutions

The candidate is a key member of the Organon Engineering & Solutions Team in supporting Standards & Guides, Engineering Assessments, Engineering Tools, Project Documentation, Standard Work, and interface with other functions. This position is hybrid and requires 2-3 days/wk at our Spring House PA and/or Plymouth Meeting, PA facility, with the remaining days available as remote work.

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Standards & Guides – Assist with development of end-user training modules summarizing the requirements within various Standards & Guides.
  • Engineering Assessments – Evaluate and implement design improvements relating to sustainability, preventive maintenance, and room conditions for a laboratory.
  • Project Documentation – Assist with organization of engineering and facility documentation to help with troubleshooting, assit with training personnel and maintain knowledge management.
  • Standard Work – Support population of Engineering Roadmap deliverables which define activites/tools and best practices used across our projects.
  • Team Interface – work with colleagues in Engineering, Safety, Technology, Operations, Laboratory to observe active projects and gather information in support of assignments.

Primary Activities Primary activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Comprehend basic engineering deliverables such as Process Flow Diagrams (PFD’s),  perform basic engineering calculations, author specifications/select equipment.
  • Learn how to apply Standard Work in day to day activities
  • Plan & Facilitate meetings, track deliverable progression, monitor schedule and actions, issue meeting minutes
  • Interface with sites and colleagues to collect information.
  • Attend departmental staff meetings, bi-weekly open issues meeting, safety committee

Required Education, Experience and Skills  

  • Pursuing a Bachelors degree in a Science or Engineering Discipline – completion of Sophomore year preferred
  • Problem Solving, strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
