The Michigan Department of Treasury, Tax Compliance Bureau, is seeking to fill an Auditing Specialist position in the Operations Division. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, resourceful, detail orientated and innovative to join our awesome team! 

This position serves as the statewide specialist/expert for the planning, development and implementation of the Quality Assurance and Procedures programs for the Audit Divisions in the Tax Compliance Bureau. The incumbent designs, implements and maintains quality assurance measurements to produce a consistent division wide quality assurance program; taxpayer correspondence, bureau specific forms, evaluates programs for adherence to tax law standards, internal and external customer satisfaction. Conducts control activities and recommends improvements to management. Field Audit Divisions-wide specialist, technical advisor and expert on quality assurance review and internal control evaluations. The incumbent reviews and makes recommendations as to procedural changes or inefficiencies. Procedure updates of division specific programs, ensure changes in audit and tax law standards are recognized, employee’s job functions and Department changes in procedures are implemented. Field Audit Divisions-wide specialist; technical advisor and expert for procedure implementation and changes. Utilizes various computer programs used by Field Audit Divisions-wide staff to perform quality assurance review.

Education
Possession of a bachelor's degree with at least 24 semester (36 term) credits in accounting.

Experience
Four years of professional experience equivalent to an Auditor, including two years equivalent to an Auditor P11 or Assistant Auditor General P11, or one year equivalent to an Auditor 12 or Assistant Auditor General 12.
