Spanish Speaking Family Responder
Nexus-FACTS is excited to add a Spanish Speaking Family Responder for its innovative Family Response and Stabilization Services (FRSS) program!
This program crisis provides response and stabilization services to Hennepin County families with youth ages 0-18 everyday, 365 days a year, 24/7! Crisis need is defined by the family and services are driven by family’s cultural, community and clinical needs. Our Family Response Team de-escalates and addresses the immediate concern with the goal of responding in-home within one hour.
Our Family Response Team connects family with other supports with option of eight-week stabilization services to help promote well-being of the family.
Responsibilities:
- Believes in and is inspired by the power of community work; delivers best-practice service throughout community settings as needed
- Identifies resources available and shares knowledge with family and providers on trauma exposure, its impact, and trauma focused
- Creates a high-touch experience for every client and family served and provides a timely response to requests for service
- Screens for trauma exposure and difficulties to be addressed and demonstrates competence in using screening tool results to enhance outcomes
- Develops and maintains community contacts and resource building with liaison relationships for seamless referrals
- Establishes a plan for families based on assessment with clinical supervisor oversight and emphasizes continuity of care and collaboration across youth service
- Communicates with client’s family and team regarding crisis support and stabilization
- Connects family system to resources with a warm hand-off in the determined priority areas; links client or family to crisis services if required
- Understands the potential for secondary traumatic stress and practices self-care strategies to mitigate these effects
- Exhibits clear, professional, respectful, and effective communication when interfacing with clients, coworkers, families, and external contacts and willingly shares knowledge, information and resources
- Emphasizes and supports cultural connections and supports multiple modalities of healing
- Provides complete and required documentation, within established timelines relating to planning and stabilization
- Complies with local office procedures for referrals and service; maintains high degree of ethical conduct, integrity, and confidentiality
Required Education and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a helping field such as Social Work, Counseling or other Human Service field required. Pertinent equivalent community work and experience will be considered.
1+ years’ experience in crisis assessment and de-escalation, behavioral intervention, and/ or direct work with youth and families.
Valid driver’s license and car insurance
- MUST be bilingual in Spanish and English
Nice to Have:
- Experience in crisis/mobile/residential or community work with children/youth and families
- Experience working within home and/or community settings
- Experience working in diverse communities and populations
- Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply! (Spanish and Somali speaking preferred)
Travel and Work Environment
- Use of personal vehicle for regular local business travel will be required to support the clients and agency business offices or company sponsored events may be required.
- This is a hybrid position requiring in person, remote, and on the road.
Schedule and Pay:
- Weekends required
- Scheduling between hours 7am-11pm
- $52,000 a year!
