About Camp Lindenmere

Camp Lindenmere is a co-ed summer camp located in the picturesque Pocono Mountains. For over 90 years, we have been creating transformative summer experiences for children ages 7-16. With a focus on creativity, friendship, and personal growth, we offer a wide range of activities, including arts, athletics, and outdoor adventures.

 

Position Overview

We are seeking a passionate and creative Photography Instructor & Bunk Counselor to join our team for the summer. In this dual role, you will teach photography to campers of all skill levels during activity periods and serve as a mentor and caregiver in one of our camper bunks. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who love photography, working with kids, and creating a fun and nurturing camp environment.

 

Responsibilities

Photography Instruction

Plan and lead daily photography lessons tailored to campers’ skill levels, from beginners to advanced.

Teach fundamental photography techniques, including composition, lighting, and camera settings.

Introduce campers to photo editing software and digital tools to enhance their work.

Supervise creative projects such as nature photography, portraits, and storytelling through images.

Maintain and organize photography equipment, ensuring it is used safely and responsibly.

Curate a photography exhibit or slideshow showcasing campers’ work at the end of the session.

 

Bunk Counselor Duties

Live in a bunk with campers, providing guidance, support, and supervision.

Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages friendships and personal growth.

Ensure the safety and well-being of campers, addressing any issues or concerns promptly.

Lead or assist in bunk activities, including evening programs, cabin clean-up, and campfire events.

Serve as a role model, promoting camp values such as respect, teamwork, and kindness.

 

Qualifications

Proficiency in photography, including experience with DSLR or mirrorless cameras and photo editing software.

Prior experience teaching or coaching photography to children or teens is preferred.

Enthusiastic, patient, and adaptable, with a strong passion for working with kids.

Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Ability to live and work in a camp setting, including overnight supervision in camper bunks.

Availability for the full camp season (June to August).

CPR and First Aid certification is a plus.
