Aviation Facilities Internship (2 opportunities)
Overview:
Gain practical, hands-on experience in the Facilities, Utilities, Electrical & Mechanical Engineering field by assisting with the organization, digitization, and management of technical records for Airport Facilities. This internship provides an opportunity to develop essential skills while supporting the operations and maintenance of critical airport systems. Interns will work closely with experienced electricians, engineers, and skilled facilities staff to ensure the accuracy and accessibility of technical records while contributing to projects that enhance operational efficiency. The ideal candidate should have an interest in facilities management, utilities, technical systems and engineering. They should be responsible, detail-oriented, and motivated to learn in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational skills, a team-oriented attitude, and an aptitude for technology are desired.
Anticipated Projects:
Digitization and Archiving:
- Assist in scanning, cataloging, and archiving technical records, including as-built drawings, operation and maintenance (O&M) manuals, and test reports.
- Ensure all records are correctly indexed and stored for easy retrieval.
Record Management:
- Organize and update technical records such as panel schedules, circuit ID labels, and arc flash warning labels.
- Verify the accuracy of records against field observations and update discrepancies as needed.
Data Consolidation and Reporting:
- Create and maintain a comprehensive database of technical records for airport facilities.
- Develop reports summarizing findings or updates to support decision-making.

Residence: Please note you must reside in the San Francisco Bay Area during the internship period. SF/Bay Area includes nine counties: Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, and Sonoma.
Education: Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent and be currently enrolled in and attending college at the time of applying for the program. Those who have graduated from college within six months prior to the start of the program are also eligible to apply. (Latest graduation December 2024)
