U Career Success - Employer Visa Sponsor Dashboard

The mission of the U’s Career Success team is to empower every U student to reach their full potential through two key elements: “no student left behind” and our commitment to community partners. With expert, personalized coaching, we guide students through every step of the career journey, from exploration and personal branding, through resume building and applying, to interviewing and salary negotiation. We set every student on a path to success by helping them to explore and develop their individual strengths and then learn how to articulate them when speaking to others. While Career Coaches guide students, our Relationship Managers give the same individual support and attention to corporate and community partners. We collaborate to understand their business, culture, and hiring needs then help them navigate and leverage a range of engagement opportunities at the U. Once employers get a taste of U talent, they want more. In the end, employers get the top talent they need while our students uncover more and better opportunities.

Project Description

Students on this project will create a dashboard that international students will be able to use to find employers that sponsor H-1B visas, allowing students to target potential employers with a higher chance of sponsoring their naturalization goals post graduation.  The students will use PowerBI to ingest data from the www.uscis.gov website here and will build a dashboard allowing easy filtering of the data using various attributes such as salary rang, job title, occupation, industry, work city, etc.  (see this site for an example).
