Alumni-in-Residence: Sign Up for Office Hours with Luke Lavin '13

The Loeb Center's Alumni-in-Residence program is excited to offer 20-minute, 1-on-1, in-person, informational office hour appointments with Luke Lavin '13.

Luke Lavin '13 is a Senior Research Engineer in the Grid Planning and Analysis Center at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (Golden, CO). There, he develops modeling tools, data, and analyses for valuing the contributions of electricity technologies and uses to future electric power systems. His recent work has focused on developing wind resource datasets, managing electric vehicle charging, valuing transmission expansion, and modeling power system response to extreme weather events.

Luke's unique role involves not just conducting cutting-edge research, but informing politicians of those outcomes in order to ensure that policies are grounded in solid scientific evidence and designed to meet future energy challenges. Current students whose career aspirations involve bridging the gap between scientific research and policy-making will particularly benefit from a conversation with Luke!
