
LHSI Intern: Clinical Core Intern
Program Summary:
This internship is offered as a part of the Life-Health Sciences Internship Program (LHSI). This program connects 125 IUI undergraduates per year with internships on campus with faculty and staff in a variety of health and science related campus areas/programs. All LHSI internships start in August 2025 and end in May 2026 and are paid $13/hour for up to 10 hours per week. Work-study is accepted but not required.

Overview of the internship site: The Indianapolis Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (IADRC) is looking for motivated candidates interested in finding out more about memory, dementia and other neurological diseases as well as research studies dealing with memory issues. The Clinical Core (CC)is one of the 8 Cores (Administrative, Data, Genetics, Education, Neuroimaging, Outreach and Pathology) in the IADRC. The Clinical Core is responsible for seeing participants for their annual visits and follows about 400 participants yearly. The Lead Clinical Core Coordinator handles the daily procedures in the CC and coordinates with the clinical research specialists and other Cores to facilitate the completion of the participants’ visits.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Research support for Research Coordinators including data entry, electronic and physical file management, sending mailings, and chart preparation.
Work Environment and Dress Code: The work is performed primarily in an office with dress code of business casual
Hours per week: flexible based on student needs (10 maximum), scheduling is flexible within regular work hours
Project-specific qualifications: Neuroscience background is NOT required, but is helpful. Successful candidates are mature, responsible, proactive, willing to ask questions, are organized and detail-oriented.

LHSI Qualifications
· must be graduating May 2027 or after (usually a current freshman or sophomore in Spring 2025)
· minimum overall GPA of 2.0
· All majors welcome
