Pivvt - Communication App Development

Company Overview

Pivvt is a platform that aims to facilitate two-way communication between businesses and consumers. These activities include inbound communication like questions, feedback, reports of problems, and idea sharing. Outbound communication includes marketing content, news and updates, research and surveys, and an alternative to traditional advertising. Pivvt removes the middlemen while providing a direct communication channel between these two groups and creating value for both sides. It acts as a communication layer for customers to have a single access point to all the businesses they interact with from a single account. Pivvt is currently implemented as a web app (hosted on Vercel and built with Neon-hosted PostgreSQL and Next.js, i.e., React and Node).

Project Description

Students on this project will work on the Pivvt app with the Pivvt development team. Students will focus on adding the ability to host private profile data that is only accessible by the user. When the user logs in, they unlock the contents of their data while using the app. The user’s profile would store personal demographic information such as birthdate, location, gender, education, income, etc. Students would also create an API that enables the addition of other types of personal consumer data to profiles that will also be unlocked when a user visits the app. If possible, an additional deliverable would be to prepare the Pivvt app to open-source this part of the application so the community can verify and further secure data privacy.
