Operational Technology Student

Classification: Student

Work Hours: 15-29 hours/week: M-F, 7:00AM-5:00PM

About the Role:  The role involves supporting and optimizing KUB's Operational Technology (OT) network, ensuring the efficient operation of the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) infrastructure across KUB's electric, gas, water, and wastewater utilities. This position offers hands-on opportunity to collaborate with a team of professionals and gain exposure to the hardware and software components that makeup the SCADA system. Key responsibilities include capturing best practices, developing standards, visualizing data from various sources, and providing insights to enhance the OT network's performance.

 

Qualifications

 

Physical Requirements:

Sedentary work; exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Physical demands for a specific position within this classification may vary and / or exceed those demands described above. 

 Minimum Requirements:

Must be and maintain full-time student status of an accredited college or university pursuing an Associates, Bachelors, or a graduate-level degree

Degree must be in Networking, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Management, or related discipline

Must have and maintain a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 or higher

Must be available to work a minimum of 15 hours per week, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7:00am and 5:00pm

Must have good oral and written communication skills

Must have and maintain a valid driver's license

Preferred Requirements: 

Maintains a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher

Has an interest in system administration and operational technology

Has a passion for solving complex problems

Possesses a strong work ethic with an attention to detail

Adheres to safety protocols for themselves and others

Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
