Continuous Improvement Engineer (Process Improvement Coordinator)

Position Summary: As a Process Improvement Coordinator, you will be responsible for leading our Process Improvement Program, which seeks to leverage the knowledge of our team. While leading this program you will work on elevating our continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing facility by leading projects, trainings, and events that Drive Change. You will work with each level of management, as well as each department on the production floor and in the office to further our improvement culture. Improvement ideas stem from our team and your goal will be to research and propose a plan of action that covers the effectiveness and value of that idea. In addition, you will help support our quality programs to build better quality homes for our customers, as well as be a resource to help with various tech initiatives in an effort to support our team.

Duties / Responsibilities: 

  • Research ideas submitted by our team and create justification for starting new projects.
  • Outline and execute plans to complete both long and short-term improvements.
  • Measure the impact before and after the completion of projects using lean tools.
  • Review previously implemented ideas and analyze impact.
  • Support Supervisors with monthly improvement projects.
  • Build and lead trainings related to lean initiatives.
  • Help implement 5S across the facility.
  • Conduct bottleneck and continuous flow analysis.
  • Determine root cause for efficiency/quality issues and present solutions.
  • Analyze and organize efficiency/quality data.
  • Develop new use cases for our efficiency/quality data collection application.
  • Serve as an organizer and backup leader for our quality programs.
  • Create presentations and lead meetings related to process improvement and quality programs.
  • Resource for tech initiatives and help with various computer and iPad issues.
  • Audit various initiatives on the production floor.
  • Introduce new hires to our programs.
  • Create and update content on our internal communication websites.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering preferred.
    • 0-2 years of experience
  • Six Sigma Certification of Yellow Belt or higher are preferred.
  • Background in Excel/VBA, and PowerPoint
  • Prior coding experience preferred.

Physical Demands: 

  • Must be able to walk, climb, lift loads of at least 50 lbs., and perform such other physical duties as may be necessary to carry out the specific and general duties described above.
  • Must be able to consistently operate a computer and other office productivity machinery such as telephone, printer, tv, etc.
  • Constantly works in an indoor environment.
