SIP 2025 - Summer Camp Counselor Intern (Off Campus) at Achievement Centers for Children - Camp Cheerful Campus

The Achievement Centers for Children has been empowering children and adults with disabilities to achieve their greatest potential through holistic and family focused services. One of our premier legacy programs is our Camp Cheerful in Strongsville.

Children ages 5 through high school graduation with and without disabilities can enjoy all that Camp Cheerful has to offer through our Cheerful Day Camp! Cheerful Day Camp offers all the activities of a traditional camp, modified for children with disabilities. We have nine action-packed weeks of activities planned on our beautiful 52-acre campus, including hiking, swimming, fishing, arts and crafts, nature study activities, games, campfire activities, music, sports, visits to our horse barn, and memories that will last a lifetime!

Note: In-person interviews will be conducted on Feb. 28, 2025, at West and Metro. These interview fairs are your only opportunity to meet and interview with hiring supervisors.

Set on 52 beautiful acres of woods, trails, fields, and aquatic areas in the Cleveland Metroparks, the Achievement Centers for Children’s Camp Cheerful offers an incredible camp experience. Campers enjoy a variety of traditional activities, including hiking, swimming, fishing, canoeing, arts and crafts, nature exploration, games, campfire singalongs, music, and sports. We also provide year-round Therapeutic Horsemanship sessions.

We’re currently recruiting Camp Counselor Interns to assist our Summer Camp Counselors. This role involves outdoor work in a fun, active environment where every day is an adventure!

Cheerful Day Camp Details:

Schedule: Monday through Friday Part-time interns welcome!

Hours: 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM

Program Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in current semester (Spring 2025)
  • Must enroll in a minimum of one Summer 2025 course
  • Must be returning to Tri-C for Fall 2025 Semester
  • Must have a declared major on record

This position is part of the Cuyahoga Community College Summer Internship Program. 

NoteInternational students are eligible for employment with on-campus/ internal Tri-C departments only.
