Intern- GRADUATE Research Assistant (Law Enforcement Best Practices) -Summer 2025

The State Highway Patrol seeks two interns (Summer 2025) to research best practices for Law Enforcement. The interns will complete a research study aimed at or designed to identify specific measurable goals in hopes of identifying best practices for the agency. The Interns will be assigned a topic for research and will be responsible for reviewing existing data, collecting new data, analyzing data, interpreting findings, drawing conclusions, and disseminating those results in a concise and factual report summary.

The selected interns will be expected to possess the following:
- Ability to effectively communicate research results through report writing, editing, and basic skill set in analyzing quantitative data
- Attention to detail by ensuring accuracy in recording and analyzing data
- Critical thinking skills with the ability to evaluate information objectively, identify biases, and draw logical conclusions from research findings
- Ability to understand statistical concepts of hypothesis testing
- Ability to identify correlations and make recommendations
- Deal with sensitive issues and confidential information.
This internship is expected to start on May 19, 2025, and continue through July 25, 2025. The work schedule is part-time (up to 30 hours per week), Monday -Friday. The rate of pay is $18.00 per hour.
