Purchasing and Logistics Intern Summer 2025

The North Carolina Department of Public Safety has an internship opportunity in Purchasing & Logistics for the Summer of 2025. Responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting Buyers in their day-to-day activities (prepare Request for Quote (RFQ’s) and Short Order Forms.
  • Approving small dollar requisitions.
  • Assisting with bid openings.
  • Helping identify and get to know HUB vendors.
  • Studying market trends, running reports, and evaluating processes and procedures.


As a procurement intern, the goal will be to help the organization get the most out of its purchasing power while reducing overall risks, building stronger relationships and adapting procurement best practices. The selected intern must have the ability to communicate in verbal and written form; possess strong problem-solving skills; and possess interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse people and cross-functional teams. 

This internship is expected to start on May 19, 2025, and continue through July 25, 2025. The work schedule is part-time (up to 30 hours per week), Monday -Friday.  The rate of pay is $18.00 per hour. We value our employees and are committed to providing flexibility in work schedules. This position qualifies for teleworking on a part-time basis as part of the State Telework Program.
