Neuroscience Postbac Research Assistant at Yale
The laboratory of Dr. Jaime Grutzendler, MD, at the Yale Department of Neurology and Neuroscience, is seeking a highly motivated individual with a recent bachelor's degree. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about participating in groundbreaking translational neuroscience research, focusing on the interactions between neurons and glial cells in neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer’s. This role involves collaboration with graduate students and postdoctoral researchers on projects that encompass molecular biology, cell culture, in vivo mouse brain imaging, and disease models of Alzheimer’s pathology and brain vascular disease. QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Bachelor's degree in biological sciences, biochemistry, biomedical engineering, or a related field is required.
- Strong research experience in cell and molecular biology is essential.
- Commitment of 24 months.
THE POSITION
The trainee will gain expertise in neurological disease etiology, molecular cell biology, induced pluripotent stem cells, drug discovery, small animal microsurgery, in vivo microscopy, and image analysis. They will collaborate with chemists and participate in all research phases, including planning, execution, and publishing findings in peer-reviewed journals, with opportunities for independent research.
