Disney Cruise Line- Multiple Musician Roles- San Antonio, TX
Disney Cruise Line is seeking musicians to fill our entertainment venues with lively tunes for our Guests of all ages to enjoy. Disney takes pride in the art of theatrical storytelling, producing the highest caliber entertainment at sea. Now is your chance to work with industry leaders for a professional entertainment experience like no other.
Auditions will be held in San Antonio, TX on January 24th from 9:30am-4:30pm with 10 minute time slots. Location will be provided at time of registration.
Contract Details
- Opportunities start as early as August 2025
- Musicians typically are housed in shared cabins with one other performer.
- Performers should be prepared to perform up to a maximum of 3 hours per day, 6 days per week for the entire length of contract (3-4 months)

Electric Guitar with Vocals
- Strong frontperson of a rehearsed trio/quartet that brings a large repertoire of music spanning several musical genres, including popular hits from yesterday to today in a variety of venues (indoor and outdoor).
- Must be able to read sheet music.
- Must be equally strong in vocals as they are in instrumental guitar.
- Must be highly proficient in classic 80’s rock as well as jazz and swing.
- Skilled in engaging with Guests, taking requests, and creating a fun atmosphere that encourages Guests to return.
Audition Material: Prepare several short selections (about 32 bars each) that feature a range of styles, including: Jazz, Rock, Disney, Top 40, Swing, and Latin. Must audition with vocals.
Bass
- Skilled in playing the electric and acoustic upright bass in various entertainment settings (indoor and outdoor).
- Must be able to read music.
- Must be able to improvise in a solo moment in front of a large audience, while also having the ability to blend in with an assortment of musicians and vocalists at a moment’s notice.
- This performer should be capable of playing multiple styles being highly proficient in classic 80’s rock as well as jazz and swing.
- Vocals are a plus but not required.
Audition Material: Prepare several short selections (about 32 bars each) that feature a range of styles, including: Jazz, Rock, Disney, Top 40, Swing, and Latin. Must see performances on both electric bass guitar and upright bass (upright bass will be provided in the audition). Vocals are strongly encouraged.
Drums
- A master percussionist, who knows how to put the groove in any beat, or make a LIVE performance explode with excitement regardless of setting (indoor and outdoor).
- Must excel at classic 80’s rock and can quickly adapt to swing and jazz in a musical trio setting.
- Must be able to read music.
- Vocals are a plus but not required.
Audition Material: Prepare several short selections (about 32 bars each) that feature a range of styles, including: Jazz, Rock, Disney, Top 40, Swing, and Latin. Vocals are strongly encouraged.
Instrumental Piano
- Role is intended to be instrumental, however vocals are optional.
- Must have a large repertoire of music that spans several musical genres, including classical pieces to popular hits. Strong familiarization with Disney songs is a must.
- Must have showmanship expertise to perform in a variety of venues (indoor and/or outdoor), engaging with Guests, taking requests, and creating a fun atmosphere that encourages Guests to return.
- Will need to play a pre-set playlist alongside other live musicians. Performer may also be asked to participate in other activities such as weddings, a live musical trivia that requires microphone and communication skills, and/or other unique gatherings.
- Must be able to read music.
Audition Material: Prepare several short selections (about 32 bars each) that feature a range of styles, including: Jazz, Rock, Disney, Top 40, Swing, and Latin. Selections with vocals are optional.
Piano with Vocals
- Vocals (Tenor range) and minimal dialogue are required.
- Must have a large repertoire of music that spans several musical genres, including classical pieces to popular hits. Strong familiarization with Disney songs is a must.
- Must have showmanship expertise to perform in a variety of venues (indoor and/or outdoor), engaging with Guests, taking requests, and creating a fun atmosphere that encourages Guests to return.
- Will need to play a pre-set playlist alongside other live musicians. Performer may also be asked to participate in other activities such as weddings, a live musical trivia that requires microphone and communication skills, and/or other unique gatherings.
- Must be able to read music.
Audition Material: Prepare several short selections (about 32 bars each) that feature a range of styles, including: Jazz, Rock, Disney, Top 40, Swing, and Latin. Must audition with vocals.
Mariachi-Style Guitarrón
- Will play music to transport guests in the vibrant Plaza de Coco during a themed theatrical dining fiesta on the Disney Treasure.
- Lively musician who is highly skilled in Mariachi standards with spirited showmanship. They should be engaging and animated.
- The ability to read music is highly preferred. Preference is towards musicians with top-notch rhythmic timing for movement and music.
- Vocals and minimal dialogue are required.
Audition Material: Prepare 2–3 short selections of varying Mariachi standards (huapangos, son jalisciense, rancheras, and boleros). Must include vocals that show range, tone, and vibrato.
Mariachi- Style Vihuela/Guitar
- Lively musician who is highly skilled in Mariachi standards with spirited showmanship. They should be engaging and animated.
- This role will primarily perform on the vihuela but should be able to switch over to guitar for certain selections.
- The ability to read music is highly preferred. Preference is towards musicians with top-notch rhythmic timing for movement and music.
- Vocals and minimal dialogue are required.
Audition Material: Prepare 2–3 short selections of varying Mariachi standards (huapangos, son jalisciense, rancheras, and boleros). Must include vocals that show range, tone, and vibrato.
Mariachi- Style Violin
- Lively musician who is highly skilled in Mariachi standards with spirited showmanship. They should be engaging and animated.
- The ability to read music is highly preferred. Preference is towards musicians with top-notch rhythmic timing for movement and music.
- Vocals and minimal dialogue are required.
Audition Material: Prepare 2–3 short selections of varying Mariachi standards (huapangos, son jalisciense, rancheras, and boleros). Must include vocals that show range, tone, and vibrato.
African-Style Drums
- Will bring the story of The Lion King to life during a dining celebration of Simba’s courageous journey to fulfill his destiny as King of the Pride Lands.
- Skilled in West African drum technique. Must play the djembe. Ability to play other African percussion a plus (e.g., dunun, balafon, various shakers, etc.) as well as mallet instruments.
- Must have an engaging stage presence.
- The ability to read music is highly preferred. Preference is towards musicians with top-notch rhythmic timing for movement and music.
Audition Material: Prepare several short selections of both traditional and popular West African drum patterns and cadences. Must demonstrate skills in bass, tone, dynamics, slap sounds, etc.
African-Style Fula Flute
- Will bring the story of The Lion King to life during a dining celebration of Simba’s courageous journey to fulfill his destiny as King of the Pride Lands.
- Skilled in West African Fula Flute techniques.
- Must have an engaging stage presence.
- The ability to read music is highly preferred. Preference is towards musicians with top-notch rhythmic timing for movement and music.
Audition Material: Prepare several short traditional West African selections. Must demonstrate skills in tone quality, expressive sound, melodic improvisation, and flutter tonguing and/or overblowing.

Requirements
- If selected, performers will be hired as crew and must complete all applications and onboarding requirements.
- Must be willing to comply with all Disney grooming guidelines and employment standards.
- All performers must be at least 21 years of age.
- All performers must be fluent in English (understanding, speaking, and writing).
- Travel is required.
- We strongly encourage performers from all cultural backgrounds to submit.
